With our local knowledge and genuine passion for Hawke’s Bay, you won’t just visit the region — you’ll experience it through the eyes of people who call it home. We all have multi-generational family connections to Hawke’s Bay.

Mike’s grandparents lived through the 1931 earthquake that re-shaped the region as we see it today. They also farmed land in the Esk Valley which today is the renowned Linden Estate Winery. Mike grew up across the road from New Zealand’s first winery, Mission Estate.

Lianne’s grew up in Wellington and the Wairarapa, spending summers in the Hawke’s Bay with her grandparents and great-grandparents. Lianne is of Ngāti Mutunga descent, with connections (whakapapa) to Wharekauri (the Chatham Islands), where her paternal grandfather was born.

Lianne and Mike have six adult children between them. They live in Havelock North.
